American Corner Part2
Okay, start from now on with the knowledge that I haven't absorbed yet, even though life is short, thanks to the presence of the United Nations which has impacted me. I am getting to know by participating in talking activities with IOM or UNESCO events. The talk with an expert which was held in an American corner at my previous university went successfully and smoothly. The event which was told by the spokesperson presents a resource about refugees and the nation which is in the refugee crisis, which was none other than a wandering future for the refugee. The theme for me is interesting because my thirst for knowledge is arising. This event is expected to make the audience understand what role IOM is in Indonesia.
This meaningful discussion with the spokesperson deliberately presents external sources from the United Nations with the goal of strengthening the knowledge and the feeling between the resident and the refugee. In the future, it is hoped that there will be more chances for residents to be more open to the refugee where learning and the process occur without any barriers. The majority of participants who attended were enthusiastic from every faculty; they were very excited when listening to the explanation and did the discussion well. The format of the event is relaxed and semi-formal but seems informal, so students are not under pressure to express their argument and they did not hesitate to ask questions. I figured that the participant admitted they were enjoying the activity because it added a repertoire of knowledge that was different from regular class. I am very blessed, I able to meet my colleagues from the student study service team, I was one of the participants who influenced my colleague to join the event, we ever took a photo together to express our togetherness.
